BIOGRAPHY

Turkish violinist Çisem Özkurt started to play violin in the age of 11 in Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. She did exchange studies in Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw with Erasmus scholarship. She graduated from high school and bachelor degrees with the top degree from her department, with the second top degree from the university. She finished her masters from Gordan Nikolic and Goran Gribajcevic’s classes at the Codarts University of the Arts.

Çisem Özkurt played as a soloist in France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy in important concert halls such as De Doelen Rotterdam.

She gave countless solo, chamber music and orchestra concerts in different continents and got the chance to play in important festivals and big concert halls such as Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow), Auditorium Santa Cecilia (Rome), De Doelen (Rotterdam), Greek Theatre Taormina (Sicily) Wroclaw Radio Orchestra Main Hall, Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam), Zorlu PSM (Istanbul), Tivoli Vredenburg (Utrecht), Aspendos (Antalya), De Kleine Komedie (Amsterdam).

She has been concertmaster in different orchestras like Uva – Orkest J. Pzn Sweelinck, Nescio Ensemble, and Codarts Symphony/String Orchestra. She has been playing important crossover projects which made her improve in jazz, pop, soul, hip-hop and world music.
